Capitals play an important part in the functioning of country.  We have national capitals and state capitals.  It is a representative to the world on how the entire nation would be governed.  Most of the seats of the government would be present in the capital city.  For example, for India, the capital of the nation is at New Delhi.  However, there are state capitals as well.  Some of the state capitals may be in fact shared like for example Chandigarh. However, sharing of national capitals of course would not be the case.  The capital city is so designated by the government.  There have been cases where the capital of a nation or a state has switched by the months due to the climatic conditions.  They would usually be called the summer capital and winter capital.

In Asia, the capital cities vary in their happiness index and living conditions.  This of course is defined usually the economic conditions of the country or the state.  The GDP (PPP) would also play a part in this.  For Asia, it is recognized that the comfort levels for living are highest in Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul, the capitals of Singapore, Japan, and South Korea respectively.  Further places like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and Singapore are high on any traveller’s must see places.  The travel expenses vary to these places.

Here is a list of some of the countries and capitals in Asia.  Afghanistan has Kabul.  Armenia has Yerevan. Azerbaijan has Baku.  India has New Delhi. Indonesia has Jakarta. Iran has Tehran.  Iraq Baghdad.  Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.  Riyadh comes in for Saudi Arabia.  Singapore’s capital has the same name Singapore.  Seoul as mentioned earlier is for South Korea. Sri Lanka’s is a slightly longer name – Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.  The troubled nation of Syria has Damascus.
