A common legal tender in the world is currency.  Yes, man has progressed quite a bit from when he was into barter system which was used for transactions and purchase.  However, currencies can take up the form of coins or notes of paper.  It is printed or minted by the government of a country. However, miscreants of course try to counterfeit currency and hence a lot of security measures are put in the currency to avoid counterfeiting.  Locally, the currency used would be usually the country’s own unless the country does not have one of its own and uses a currency that is most popular around the world.  It is the central bank of a country has the right to circulate money as directed by the government.  The unit of currency would have a main unit plus a unit which could be a fraction of the currency.  The economy of a country is determined by the value of its currency and sometimes nations try to destabilize other nations during conflict by introducing counterfeit note.

In Asia there is no particular dominant currency.  However, if you look at the bulk usage of a currency then the Chinese Yuan and the Indian Rupee has the most circulation.  For trading, the Japanese Yen, Chinese Yuan, Hong Kong dollar, and Singapore dollar; all feature in the top 10 of the forex for most used.  Many countries have their currency named as the rupee although they are independent to each other.  The Pakistani, Indian, Srilankan, and Nepalese Rupee are the currencies in question.

Some of the other interesting currency names and the countries in Asia are as follows:  Bahrain with the Bahraini dinar, Bangladesh with the Bangladeshi taka, Bhutan with the Bhutanese ngultrum, Brunei with the Brunei dollar.  As you can see there is a much varied currency system in Asia.
