South American Flags:
A flag has a lot of connotations. It can represent many things. Admit that it may be just a piece of cloth with some designs and colours, but its significance goes much beyond that. Flags can represent the true spirit of a country. It can symbolize an organization. It can feature and event. It can be the spirit behind the struggle for independence of a nation, the one symbol around which a whole nation may have rallied for years. It could symbolize an event like the conquering of a mountain by climbers after days of struggle. Thus a piece of cloth becomes the most important part of a nation’s, states, organization’s reputation. There are many practical purposes too for a flag. It can act as a means by which to recognize the identity of, let us say for example purposes, a artillery tank which is in a poor visibility area. You are able to distinguish between friend and for visually. This is of utmost importance and can mean the difference between life and death.
Thus there are many reasons why the flags are important. The South American countries don’t have that many flags which are famous other than the Brazilian flag and the Argentinean flag both of which were made famous through their sporting heroes. The Brazilian flag has a blue disc which represents the sky. It is traversed by a band curving with the national motto on it. This is within a gold rhombus which is further in a green field. The Argentina flag is a triband which has a light blue and white theme. There is a yellow sun of May in the centre.
Another country in the news from South America, Venezuela, has a tricolour flag of yellow, blue, and red. It has the national coat of arms on the hoist side on the upper part. It also has an arc of 8 five point stars at the centre of the blue band.
